Yes, it’s true, it’s another blog. Another fashion blog. Another FAT fashion blog. It might seem super trendy at the moment (and it totally is), but I have been doing this for years. Honest!
I used to write over at No More Mumus. After discussing it with some friends, I decided I needed a change and a platform that was more user friendly and WordPress provides that in spades for me. Those same friends (Natalie and Nick) helped out with themes and tech stuff, because I am a complete Luddite when it comes to all that jazz.
So, anyway, I will be following a somewhat similar pattern here that I followed over at No More Mumus, in terms of what I will be posting about.
Australian Fatshion! There isn’t really a great deal. I’d like to scour the shops and see what they have to offer for Australian plus sized consumers, according to seasonal trends. I’d like stores and buyers for those stores to pick up their game. If they want Australian consumers to buy clothing in Australian stores, then the clothing needs to be both trendy, different and affordable.
Myself, I turn to overseas stores because, even with shipping, the clothing tends to be cheaper. The styles are different from what every plus sized store here has to offer and the trends are more fashion forward.
I would like to buy Australian (at least SOLD in Australian stores if not MADE in them). But in order for that to happen, these changes need to occur. Some stores are upping their game and I’m grateful for it. But many more need to follow suite.
In the meantime, I’ll be checking out the clothing on offer in store and posting about it. Join me in my fashion exploration!

Awesome! Loved seeing the photos you posted on your old websited. Can’t wait to read more opinons and, more importantly, where to buy clothes that actually look decent.
Can’t wait to read more. I’ve been reading from your old site.
Cheers!
Invaluable information , this is certainly both good reading for, have quite a few good key points, and I learn some new stuff as a result ! too, many thanks for sharing your information.
Hi, what stores do you think “are upping their game”? Do you see any stores responding to the market of fatshion bloggers all over the internet? I would really like to hear your comments!
Hi Simone!
I think Autograph is truly upping their game in plus sized fashion. I believe they hired a new fashion buyer and I think it shows in the clothing on offer in store now. There are a lot more clothes geared towards a ‘trendier’ person and the colour palette seems to be in season with what is in trend now.
I’m not sure whether they’re responding to the market or not. I do think City Chic, with hiring Fashion Hayley as their blogger/stylist (or is it just blogger?) are really clue-y about getting in on the ‘trend’ of fatshion bloggers, for sure.
Thanks for your response!

Hi Sonya,
Are you going to port your old blog into this one? I have to say, thank you for moving platforms. That other one was so difficult to read!!!
Looking forward to seeing a circle of Aussie bloggers develop and get the same kind of coverage that the overseas crowd do – and prompt the local media to ask US about local trends and blogging instead of people who aren’t in the same country (no offense to them, gotta protect local industry!)

Hi! I’m not entirely sure! Apparently I technically don’t OWN the content, so I don’t know whether I can. If not, I guess it was a lesson learnt. :/
Exactly! I (and I’m sure you do too) get so frustrated when the media seems to get lazy and not even search out for local bloggers to talk to. There’s lots of us! It’s not that hard to google.

Thanks! Can’t wait to buy and look for clothes that are actually decent. Oh man, my poor purse.
You have a lovely new home! I’ve sent you an email.
Thank you! I will check my email right now!
