Put a (giant, oversized) ring on it

(thumbnail link seller’s picture from the Etsy shop – Vie Moderne. My most recent ring purchase).

I’ve really been getting into wearing rings lately. For someone who never used to wear them because they made my fingers look fat (maybe because, oh, i don’t know, they are actually fat?), I’ve embraced rings with the fervour of someone … who embraces things with fervour.

My penchant is for giant, oversized, blingy rings. I’ve found finding them to fit my fingers a bit of a battle though. Smidgen of luck at Diva and Lovisa,

great luck at City Chic, Made It and on Etsy. Most of these rings are adjustable, which are a total god-send for me.

City Chic produced a whole lot of jewellery for this season, specifically tailored to those with larger hands, wrists and necks. I can’t tell you how weird it was to walk into the jewellery section of a store and find rings that fit, and even rings that were too big.

Etsy and Made It can be daunting, but if you have the patience, it can yield some awesome, unusual rings. Tip? Utilise the search function.

  1. Tip: If one wishes to buy rings on etsy, buy a ring sizer first. I got one of those on etsy for about $3 and it makes it so much easier to search for rings that will actually fit my chubby digits.
