This is the first of the autumn/winter trends posts in store and online for the year! Starting with my favourite,
-
dark lipstick
. Most of the best colours are those in the red family, but why not branch out into the purple? There’s something for every budget.
The better cheaper brand I’ve found with great colour pay off is Australis. Here is one of their limited edition colours on me:

Other colours that are great in the Australis range are: Charleston and Jitterbug, an awesome purple colour and a pinky red.
For higher end lipstick, NARS is one of my absolute holy grail of lipsticks. Fire Down Below is a deep, dark red and Russian Doll is a new mauve-y favourite.

- Flushed cheeks
Pretend you’ve just come from the snow (and then show me pictures — I’ve never been!). I’m not a beauty blogger, nor do I play one on tv, so I don’t know if this is something they’d recommend, but my favourite way to blush up is to use some of the lipstick I’m wearing as a blush. MAC’s Girl About Town amplified creme lipstick is the best way I’ve found to create blushed cheeks — you just apply it like you would a normal cream blush.

But if you’d prefer to use something closer to an actual blush, the best flushed pink I’ve found is Napoleon Perdis’s Colour Disc in Pink Slink. Yeah, it’s technically an eyeshadow, but man, the pigment is fantastic.
The last trend is
- BIG hair
.

This is something I’ve never been particularly good at, even when my hair was longer. I know it involves backcombing and teasing the ever loving hell out of the hair, as well as good hairspray and a fine-tooth, long handled comb. Frankly, my arms would get way too sore, so I’m gonna link to Tavi’s two-minute beehive that a lot of people have had success with. I hope it helps you guys with longer hair!
